FS#139 - "Delete" option in File menu

Would be nice to have a “Delete” option in the File menu to delete the current file from disk.

No, this is an operating system task! There cannot be an undo for this operation from inside an application, and as such it does not belong in an application but the operating system supplied file management user interface!

"2010-06-20: A request to re-open the task has been made. Reason for request: It's a pretty common feature in source code editors, from things as simple as plain text editors like Notepad++ to full-fledged IDEs like Visual Studio. [...]"

I can't tell for Notepad++, but Visual Studio (speaking of VS 2005 here) does not have such an option in the "File" menu; I also do agree with Thorsten that such an option does indeed not belong there.

Additionally there is a simple way to achieve this with recent betas: right-clicking on the tab the file is open in will give you the option to open the folder in windows explorer (with the file highlighted). From there it is simple to close the tab and delete the file by pressing 'del' within explorer.
